If you contact us by email, we receive the information that you choose to include. This may include your name, email address, subject line, message, source links, page URLs, and attachments. Please do not send passwords, payment-card details, government identifiers, or ExitLag account credentials.

The Site itself does not run analytics code. The hosting provider may create standard server logs containing an IP address, request time, requested URL, browser user agent, referring page, response status, and basic device or network information. These logs support delivery, reliability, and security.

2. How We Use Information

We may use information that you provide to:

• Answer editorial, source, accessibility, or privacy questions.
• Review corrections and update published material when appropriate.
• Protect the Site and investigate suspected abuse or security incidents.
• Comply with valid legal obligations and enforce the Site terms.
• Maintain a limited record of material editorial correspondence.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use messages sent to this Site to make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

The current Site does not intentionally set analytics, advertising, or personalization cookies. The visible cookie notice is a CSS-only interface: choosing Accept or Decline dismisses the notice for the current page view but does not store a persistent preference.

If analytics or advertising technology is added later, this policy and the consent interface must be updated before non-essential tracking is activated. Browser controls may also block or delete cookies.

The Site links to official ExitLag pages and may link to other external sources. Following an external link takes you to a separately operated website. We do not control that website’s cookies, accounts, payments, or privacy practices.

We do not disclose personal information to ExitLag merely because the Site discusses that product. If your message concerns an ExitLag account, we will normally direct you to official support rather than forward account data.

7. Data Security

Reasonable administrative and technical safeguards should be used to limit unauthorized access, including HTTPS transport, restricted account access, current software, and access controls at hosting and email providers. No internet transmission or storage method can be promised as completely secure.

You are responsible for choosing what to include in email. Avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for an editorial or privacy request.

8. Data Retention

Routine correspondence may be retained for up to 24 months after the last interaction so that we can manage corrections, requests, and follow-up. Material connected to a legal dispute, security incident, or published correction may be retained longer when reasonably necessary.

Hosting logs are generally controlled by the hosting provider and should be retained only for the provider’s documented operational or security period. We aim to delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed.

9. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of personal data; request portability; withdraw consent; or appeal a decision about a privacy request.

California residents may also request information about categories of personal information collected, sources, purposes, and disclosures. The Site does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. We may need to verify a request before acting on it.

Hosting or email providers may process information in the United States or other countries. Where required, providers should use recognized transfer mechanisms and safeguards. Data-protection laws may differ across countries.

11. Children’s Privacy

This Site is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where local law sets a higher age for independent consent, that higher age applies. A parent or guardian may contact us to request deletion.

The Site Privacy Contact serves as the point of contact for data-protection questions. No separate statutory Data Protection Officer has been appointed because the current Site does not conduct large-scale monitoring or process special-category data as a core activity.
